Also this imitates the mother turning the eggs to make sure they are warm all around. Turkey eggs take 28 days to hatch. About 2-3 days prior to the 28th day the eggs are placed in the hatcher to help the babies get established in the upright position in the eggs. the hatcher does not turn to help the babies know which end is up.

While they are in the hatcher the babies establish themselves to come out. During this time they also start piping inside the shell to come out, the babies have a special point on the end of their beak which allow them to break out! Also just before they come out they ingest the rest of the yolk which is their food that can last for 4 days while the waiting for their siblings to arrive.

When we went to the incubator to move the eggs~ low and behold there were 3 baby turkeys that could not wait!
Either our calendar was off or we just don't know how to count! We quickly moved everyone else including the babies into the hatcher so the 3 could dry off and the rest come out. I am very pleased to say that the rest of the eggs had started to hatch too!!!

it looks as if we have had great success with these eggs and for them to have been shipped and this great of a hatch!
