This venture all started out because we wanted
to provide quality food for our children. With all of the
reports about chemicals and hormones injected into our food and
all of the medical problems associated with this, Jon and I
decided it was time to make sure our family had hormone and
chemical free food. Thankfully, we already had a farm. All we
needed were the animals and the commitment to make this work.
What started out simply as a family project has unfolded into a
full time business. We purchase our animals from local farmers
at an early age. The cows, for instance, are sometimes just a
day old. This guarantees that we know what the animal has
consumed at all stages of its life. We bottle feed the baby cows
for two months and then gradually introduce them to grain and
hay. Our piglets are cared for in a similar manner.
Our philosophy is that we are the animals care takers. It is our
responsibility to the animals to ensure that their lives are as
healthy and carefree as possible. If you visit our farm, you
will see that there are large green pastures for the cows to
wander. Or perhaps just to take a sunny afternoon nap on. The
pigs have a large pen where they can run, play tag, and just do
piggy things.
It is a lot of hard work, but we
believe it is all worth while. Once you've tasted our farm raised
meats, you'll notice the difference. Please contact us if you are considering naturally raised meat products from our farm. We'll be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding prices, orders, and special occasion reservations.
